Use in place of the old Seloc washers under cam cover bolts to prevent oil from weeping out. New ones are recommended when installing rubber cam cover gaskets. These one-piece washers consist of an oil proof molded nitrile rubber sealing element mechanically locked into a zinc-plated steel washer. As you tighten the fastener, the slightly thicker nitrile rubber compresses and forms a seal around the fastener shank. Washers are reusable as long as the nitrile rubber element is not damaged.
